The inspiring journey of Success Guru AK Mishra

Indomitable willpower, never say die attitude and belief in his mission are the hallmark of AK Mishra, the Founder and Chairman of Chanakya education and Training Pvt. Ltd. which is a conglomeration of Chanakya IAS Academy (flagship company Since 1993 and Chanakya Publication. Hailing from the salubrious heights of Jharkhand’s Chota Nagpur Plateau, where the district town of Hazaribagh is nestled, this worthy son of a school principal always aspired to do something extraordinary in life. After a splendid academic career through a nondescript rural school, Hazaribagh’s St. Columba’s college and then Delhi University, he could well have become an administrator himself. But that would have limited matters to him and personal excellence. And therefore, he instead chose to develop “Human Software”, as he calls it, for administration and governance of India.

The journey of this man, who today is an inspiration for thousands, has never been so easy. It was harder still in the years gone by. In fact, the word “remote” acquires the true meaning there, as the British must have discovered while trying to lay railroads through its tough terrain. Communication might be a little better today, with superior highways and more railway lines, but they had certainly not improved much when Mr AK Mishra was growing up in the independent India of the 1960s. He cycled five kilometers from his village of Barkagaon to his first school. From vantage points, during pauses in his daily toil, he must have seen endless stretches of land and people that needed to be administered and governed. These pauses, and what he thoughtfully surveyed in them, perhaps suggested him the way forward and thus he decided to lay the foundation of an institution where he can coach the youngsters and help them become the administrators to bring a change which our nation deserves.

And this is how Chanakya IAS Academy came into the existence. Began with just 43 students in a small set up with few selected faculties, Chanakya IAS Academy today coaches more than 8000 students in its 18 centres across India and is considered as the most favored nursery of India’s future bureaucrats. In its 25 years of excellence, Chanakya IAS Academy has given more than 4000 administrators to the nation. With each passing year, the strike rate is enviable, and this has not gone unnoticed in a country where making it to these services is among the highest measures of the merit.

Mr AK Mishra never wanted Chanakya IAS Academy to be thought or taken as just another coaching institute. That would detract from his vision, as he says “I was aware that I would be training people who are going to lead the country, so why not create an All India Institute for the All India Services? This could only be done by education with a broad vision and not through typical patterns”. And thus, he not only coaches students with best of the faculties in its over 18 centres, but he also organizes various workshops, seminars and training programs across India to educate the youngsters of our nation and to make them think, feel and express themselves like administrators.

Today, when more than 35000 people turn up to hear the son of soil in Hazaribagh, Patna, Delhi and other cities across India, where he organizes his motivational training programs not just for students, but people from all walks of life, we all can assume that he has more than arrived and has something undeniably forceful to say. Yet the journey has been tough and not many would have thought the arrival possible.

While narrating his journey, he said “There were monetary constraints, but I had faith. It was a question of first, making the students feel comfortable in our environment and, next selecting the right kind of teachers to train them. The other challenge that I faced when I got the students in my institution from different backgrounds, some students came from villages too and had an entirely different background to those from urban areas. And then the thought of providing education in both English and Hindi Medium came into mind”. He brought in library facility, air-conditioned classrooms, lodging for outstation students and other features that were not part of the existing coaching model back then.

He says “I am a very firm believer in Human potential and its uniqueness. I feel that any person with a healthy brain can be trained to excel. I refuse to believe that one can and the other cannot. So I first identify the special talent of the person and then enhance it to meet the goal of choice”.

And thus, beyond the academy, his motivational seminars draw impressive numbers across India. Understanding and analyzing human behavior at different stages of life in different circumstances is what enticed, Success Guru AK Mishra to establish two more business verticals which are “AK Mishra’s Art of Success – a life transformation training company & Non-profit Organization “AK Mishra Foundation”, through which he fulfills his dream of remaining grounded and feel the pain of those in need, serve the vulnerable sections of the society and empower them with relevant education, healthcare, skill-set and employment opportunities.

On one hand, where his Art of Success and his Trademark Model “Human Software Development Program” is popular worldwide through which he trains people to reprogramme their mind for success, on the other hand, his active involvement in social services is giving a ray of hope to lakhs of unprivileged people. He says “through AK Mishra Foundation, I feel my existence is justified. I am successfully being able to contribute to the society. It is my continuous struggle to make this country a better place to live than I found it. I will be glad if I could be a channeling force for thousands of unprivileged people of India”.

He does not yearn for awards or recognition, as he rightly says “My awards have come in the form of results or outcomes of the students coached by me and the smiles that I see on people’s face who get benefited through the social activities that I frequently organize”.

AK Mishra Foundation comprises of eminent professionals from multi-sector backgrounds across India that share a common vision and do their bit towards the society in making of a cognitive culture. It’s with an intention to put collective efforts to synergistically work and gather people who find themselves inspired to uplift lives of those who grow with inadequate education, healthcare, resources and psychological support.

AK Mishra foundation envisions a transformed India where all children and families have access to proper education and medical care. Through the non-profit organization of this humble man, AK Mishra supports & is actively indulged in the programmes and services that are consciously working towards the welfare of the society and their sustainable development.

AK Mishra believes that unless members of the civil society are proactively involved in the process of uplifting the backwards sections of the society—sustainable change will not occur in our country. Due to his immense belief in ‘Civic Driven Change’, AK Mishra Foundation sensitizes the civil society towards his mission of empowering the society from within. Through AK Mishra Foundation, AK Mishra is devotedly working towards the 5 major causes, which are, Health, Education, Art & Culture, Skill Development, Employment and sports.  Looking at this humble vision of the man, various prominent institutions, development agencies, confederations and associations across the country have joined hands to support in the noble initiatives.

Talking in detail about the 5 causes towards which AK Mishra is working, let’s take one by one and the initiatives taken by him for each cause to bring a positive change in the society as a whole.

Education: Mission Education by AK Mishra Foundation is a national level programme which is committed to contributing towards basic education and healthcare to underprivileged children. AK Mishra Foundation believes that whether you are addressing healthcare, population control, unemployment, poverty or human rights—there’s no greater place than the corridors of education. Furthermore, AK Mishra Foundation is dedicated to supporting higher education for brilliant, deserving yet disadvantaged students across India. AK Mishra consistently organizes national as well as state-level scholarships programs, community awareness programs and other training programs in association with various reputed institutions like Vinoba Bhave University, Amity University, and many others.  AK Mishra Foundation accord education for destitute children who are under difficult circumstances; Child Labor, Children of Poor Parents, Orphans, Children Affected by HIV/AIDS, Children with rare disabilities, Disaster struck children, Slum children, etc. Special importance is given on girl child education and women education—as it’s an immense belief of Mr AK Mishra that educating a girl is educating a generation so that every woman can empower their families.

Health: AK Mishra promotes inter-generational bonding and acclaims a strong belief that granting healthcare services to children and families is a fundamental way towards the development of both the society and the country. AK Mishra says “Since independence, India has made rapid strides in the health sector. However, a reliable healthcare remains a challenge across our country. Shockingly, urban areas have less than 4% of government primary health care services, despite accounting for 1/4th of the country’s poor population. Urban slum dwellers are not far behind; they suffer from adverse health conditions and go through economic adversity”. AK Mishra Foundation has a firm alliance with Healthy Aging India (founded by Dr Prashun Chatterjee, a national non-profit organisation, working for the better health care and quality life for the geriatric (60+) population of the country), Save Child Beggar, (another Non Profit organization formed for providing health care services to the marginalized people of the society), Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), and many other such organizations. It aims at  Creating a unique self-sustaining model for an elder generation, empowering the community by engaging them in meaningful activity, promoting quality of life through awareness, promotion and creating inter-generational solidarity. AK Mishra frequently organizes various health camps for kids, elderlies and offers free health check-ups, treatments to promote healthy living amongst the slum dwellers.

Art and Culture: Since its Inception, AK Mishra Foundation is devoted to the Art and Culture. Following this subscription, AK Mishra Foundation creates awareness about music, dance and other performing arts among the common people across the country. AK Mishra says “In modern time, the life has become so tiring that one cannot afford his time towards Art and Culture. Thus, our Mission Art and Culture ensures that people should learn and experience the trance of the diverse culture and arts. AK Mishra Foundation aims at pulling more and more people towards learning Indian Culture and Classical Arts, so that people may get familiar with our rich culture and recognize the importance of our ethos and understand its holiness”.

Skill Development and Employment: Mr AK Mishra has realized, through years of working on the ground, that the major problem of the school Dropouts across our country from underprivileged families is because of two reasons; Economic poverty & Social poverty. While economic poverty is directly the lack of financial aid— the social poverty is the absence of social support systems and most importantly, the socio-cultural atmosphere that positively impacts school Dropouts in developing their skills and improving themselves. Thus, AK Mishra conducts sessions especially in the marginalized areas, where participants are given vocational trainings that help them develop additional skills based on their area of interest. Further as per the true belief of Mr AK Mishra that behind every successful individual, is a woman who held their back, and therefore these women must be given a platform to sharpen their skills and not only get acknowledged for it but also get the chance to earn with this skill-set. And therefore, AK Mishra conducts special training programs on women empower empowerment for these women, where they get training like sewing and other trainings based on their interest level and further give them an employment opportunity where they can further enhance their skills and teach others the same art.

Sports: Success Guru AK Mishra strongly believe in sports and its conception towards the Sustainable livelihoods in both the rural and the urban parts of our country. AK Mishra Foundation uses sports as a tool to achieve community and personal development objectives. AK Mishra says “We have adopted sports as a part of corporate social that provides a platform for youngsters from disadvantaged sections of the society and empowers youth to get recognized nationally. AK Mishra is actively involved in conducting cross country championships, which he recently organized in Hazaribagh, where a lot of youngsters participated and represented the nation at the national level”.

So these are the few glimpses jotted down as the introduction of Mr AK Mishra, who is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, social worker and above all a humble human being a ray of inspiration for thousands.

David Bowie, multi-dimensional artist and transformative musician, dies at 69

David Bowie, the barrier-breaking British actor and rock musician, has died at the age of 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer. His business manager told that he died days after releasing of his critically acclaimed video” Bill Zysblat” on his birthday. During his initial rise in the 1970s, he exhibited nonpareil enthusiasm for music and produced an astonishing range of work, from blue-eyed soul (“Young Americans) to comic folk (“Space Oddity”) and glam rock (“Ziggy Stardust”). He never stopped innovating which was apparently visible in his electronic experiments with Brian Eno.Dawid bowie

In 1983, he appeared on the cover of Time Magazine with worldwide success of “Let’s Dance” and his stardom soared to new heights.

Born David Jones, saxophone was Bowie’s first musical instrument and he was fond of rock by Little Richard, Fats Domino and Frankie Lymon. In the mid-1960s, he set about recording folk and pop music for wide range of labels. In 1966, he changed his name to David Bowie and began dabbling in theatre

His album “Space Oddity” was released in 1969 and became his first U.K. top 10 hit. Under the influence of Marc Bolan, Bowie instituted band called Hype with guitarist Mick Ronson.

In 1976, he made his debut in Hollywood as an actor and performed the role of alien visitor in Nicolas Roeg’s “The Man Who Fell to Earth “. The same year his jaw-dropping in “Station to Station” is memorable”. In 1977, he was featured in another film “Just a Gigolo”, alongside Kim Novak and Marlene Dietrich.

After enjoying the 70s as a path breaking rocker, and then with the mega success of “Let’s Dance” rest of the 80s were amazingly fallow for Bowie. He set up a band called Tin Machine in 1989 and released two albums. In the 90s also Bowie zeal to experiment did not satiate and he released a series of albums which was strikingly different from the 1970s.

The unrivalled acting and creative acumen of David Bowie will never be forgotten- his undying spirit to experiment and devotion to music will continue inspiring budding musicians and fledgling singers. David, in a true sense strived hard to liberate music from bohemian approach.

3 Common Affirmation Myths

Since affirmation and law of attraction is much popular in new generation, there is still a lot of confusion and disagreement about how they should be used. You’ve probably heard some of this advice from experts before, affirmations must always be stated in present tense; they must be repeated every day, they must be spoken aloud; they must never include negative words like won’t or can’t. Law of Attraction doesn’t understand the words “Don’t, No, not”. Even if you’re thinking “I don’t want to be unhealthy”, the law of attraction will send a message in the Universe “I want to be Unhealthy” and you will attract the same. Always focus on “What do you want” and keep behind the thoughts related to the things “what you don’t wan’t in Life”, or what you fear from. When there is believe, no fear or the 2nd thought can be aligned with the positive affirmation and thought process.

.affirmation

Myth #1 – Affirmations must always be stated in present tense.

The reason why most affirmations are stated in present tense is so that you will start feeling as if your desire is already a reality now. For example, you might say, “I am fit, healthy and strong,” rather than, “I will be fit, healthy and strong.”

However, sometimes using present tense stirs up a lot of resistance. You just don’t believe it, so the affirmation won’t work for you. To get something into the existence, your thought process must be aligned with your inner feeling. If you were to say, “I am fit, healthy and strong,” but you don’t FEEL fit, healthy or strong, your mind is going to reject that affirmation. It just doesn’t feel true for you. Therefore, Using FUTURE tense sometimes can also help make an affirmation more believable. For Ex. if you were to say, “I am becoming healthier and stronger every day,” or “I am willing to feel stronger and healthier right now,” you might have an easier time absorbing the message

Myth #2 – Affirmations need to be very specific.
Affirmations need to focus specifically on a certain outcome you want. For example, “I easily earn 1.5 lakh in a month”, rather than, “I am financially successful.”

This is true ONLY if the specific outcome doesn’t contradict your current situation too much. Sometimes when you get too specific, you highlight the discrepancy between the words you are saying and the reality you are living. If you are currently struggling with some serious financial problems, the last thing you want to do is recite a specific financial affirmation! That will only make you feel worse.

If you are currently struggling with some serious financial problems, the last thing you want to do is recite a specific financial affirmation! That will only make you feel worse. Do not think about I am suffering from loo, but now I’ll make my situation better, rather only say, I am allowing my financial condition to be better day by day, I am attracting more business, I am ready to allow financial solutions now.

“DO NOT FOCUS ON WHAT IS BAD OR WHAT YOU DON’T WANT, INSTEAD FOCUS ON WHAT IS GOING TO BE BETTER. WHAT YOU WANT, KEEPING BEHIND ALL THE NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCES YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM. REMEMBER, THESE NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCE ARE THE RESULT OF YOUR PAST THOUGHTS, DON’T LET THEM SHAPE YOUR FUTURE.

Myth #3 – Affirmations need to be spoken aloud.

You may have heard that affirmations work best when they are spoken aloud, but sometimes it’s not easy to do that. If you don’t live alone or you are otherwise surrounded by people much of the time, you may not want to advertise the fact that you are using affirmations.

I have found that affirmations can work just as well if they are mentally recited or written down rather than spoken aloud. However, because our thoughts move much faster than our spoken words, it’s helpful to mentally recite an affirmation very slowly and deliberately, while focusing on the words just as you would when speaking aloud. If you allow your mind to move too fast, you won’t be focusing too intently on the affirmations so your results may not be as impressive.

Take your time when focusing on an affirmation. Really tune in to the words and the essence of the feeling behind the words. The more keenly you focus on the concept, the more easily you will absorb the new message.

When you start working deliberately with affirmations, you quickly realize that there are no “carved in stone” rules for using them. Different techniques will work better for some people, and not for others. The key is to practice and find out what works best for YOU.
